Falsely advertised; NOT 14,000 BTU
By W. Tramontana
This unit is actually only 13,500 BTU. It states this on a plate on the side of the unit itself. This was very disappointing to find, since there was a 12,000 BTU unit that would have met my needs, but the price seemed negligible when comparing that it would be a full 2,000 BTU more. Who knows, maybe their 12,000 BTU is only 11,500 BTU, in which case I still would feel scammed. The unit itself runs great, looks very nice, not too ridiculously loud in the auto-mode except when it has to kick up to high. When it's on low it's no louder to me than a 18" box floor fan. When it's on high, it's loud, when it's on low, it's like a box fan on low. You hear it, but you can hear yourself think. My setup is a small 450 sq ft studio apartment without air conditioning. I bought this unit now in April before everyone is sold out in summer, and because it's very damp here in Spring (Pittsburgh). Right now the dehumidify function is getting the most use, and works VERY well. I did use the unit half the day on A/C in AUTO mode, with the swing feature activated- very nice! It cooled the place down in 30 minutes and after didn't cycle too often to be annoying. The duct tube that goes to the window does get quite warm (expelling hot air is it's job after all). So to maximize this units function in cooling, I highly recommend to add a Foil Jacket Insulated Pipe Sleeve - 6 Inch to your cart. Depending on the unit you buy you may need a different size so due diligence is key. Though regardless which of the portable A/C units you decide on I would get one. By sliding a sleeve over the duct you keep it relatively flexible, and stop this tube from warming the room (which would obviously be counter intuitive). It will reduce energy consumption big time. Otherwise the tube is just like a radiator heater. Even without though this unit works really well. I have a unit manufactured by a name brand competitor that I bought from Costco a couple years ago, and this has more features and is more 'functional' over all. Plus $3.99 for overnight shipping (if you have a prime membership- enough said!)

Excellenant Unit
By Branden
This unit works extremely well for us. It is quieter than serveral of the other models i have used in the past and the their is no need to drain the unit unless you are dehumidifying which is very nice. The only tips we have found with it is in order to use "Follow Me" you need to be in Cool Mode and make sure you have it set to swing to keep the air moving.

LOVE!
By Jessica E.
This thing ROCKS!! My husband got it set up pretty easily and after only a few minutes I could feel it start to cool off upstairs - even with the door open! I love the "white noise" it makes as it is comparable to our air purifier and not too loud. Bring on summer!
